CADD Academy
Docking, dynamics, and cheminformatics taught as a studio — from the medicinal-chemistry bench toward a research defence.
The interface is the live product. No screenshot is shown where one was not published.
Overview
CADD Academy is a public learning platform for computer-aided drug design. The published line is deliberate: taught as a studio, not a slideshow, for people moving between the bench and a research defence.
Problem
Docking is often taught as a menu tour, detached from the decisions a medicinal chemist has to make about a real series.
Solution
A single public studio that keeps docking, molecular dynamics, and cheminformatics in one place, aimed at chemists rather than at software tourists.
Architecture
- Public web platform at cadd.ahmedmf.online.
- Studio format: method, decision, and interpretation kept together.
- Subject scope limited to docking, dynamics, and cheminformatics — not a general chemistry encyclopaedia.
Technology stack
- Molecular docking
- Molecular dynamics
- Cheminformatics
Features
- Drug-design teaching aimed at research use, including PhD-level framing.
- Computational methods presented next to medicinal-chemistry judgement.
Challenges
- Staying honest about what a docking pose can and cannot claim.
- Serving both a student and a researcher without splitting into two products.
Results
- The academy is live and public.
- No enrolment or outcome statistics are published, so none are stated.
Lessons learned
- The useful constraint was the format: a studio, not a deck of slides.
